Mafia and bikers using GTA street gangs as ‘disposable army’

GTA mafia and bikers used to get their hands dirty. Today those groups are more likely to recruit younger, lesser-known criminals to do their dirty work. Cops say bikers use a “multi-layered approach to distance themselves from law enforcement,” including using street gangs for difficult jobs. Roughly 150 such groups exist in the GTA, with names like the Shower Posse, Afghan Fighting Generation and Dixon City Bloods.

Things were different in the 70s through 90s, when the bikers were often the ones recruited.
Biker Cecil Kirby was recruited by local mobsters to beat, bomb and kill before becoming an informant.

Biker Salvatore (Sam) Calautti was a suspect in at least five unsolved gangland hits, including the slaying of Nicolo (Uncle Nick) Rizzuto Sr., father of boss Vito Rizzuto. “He was very good at what he did” say cops. Calautti was shot dead in his BMW X6 in July 2013.

Dixon Road Bloods
Underworld enforcer Normand Brisebois said in an interview that ambitious street gangsters often think they’re moving ahead when they’re hired to do enforcement work. They are anonymous and unknown, and that is their biggest asset. If they need to be eliminated, nobody will care.

Even if a gang member gets caught and decides to co-operate with authorities, they’re likely to know very little about the crime or those responsible.

'Birdy' had a pharmacy up his ass

When drug cops arrested a New York City man for drug dealing, they found a veritable pharmacy hidden on his person — or more accurately, in his person. Parker also had $1,100 on him when he was arrested, presumably in his pockets. Cops did a 5 month probe before arresting him.

Cocaine importers guilty as chit

Matthew Ross Lambert
Two B.C. men have been convicted on drug conspiracy charges after the seizure of 157kg of cocaine from a container ship in Halifax in June 2018. Matthew Ross Lambert, 36, and Darcy Peter Bailey, 48, were convicted and will be sentenced this fall. The Arica docked at the Halterm Container Terminal on the morning of June 9, 2018, after sailing from Montreal. The ship’s last port call before Montreal was Antwerp, Belgium. A video inspection of the Arica’s hull by a remotely operated vehicle revealed an anomaly in the sea chest, a grated chamber on the bottom of the vessel which draws sea water for cooling. Divers recovered the cocaine.

Jalisco cartel using drones armed with C-4 explosives

The Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) is using drones armed with C4 explosives to attack its enemies.
A citizens' militia group in Tepalcatepec, Michoacán, reports finding two drones inside an armored car that cartel hitmen had abandoned after an attempted raid on July 25. The C4 was packed with ball bearings in Tupperware-like containers that were equipped with a remote detonation system and duct-taped to the drones.

In April, the cartel used small planes to drop explosives on Tepalcatepec, but increased aerial surveillance in the region caused the CJNG to opt for drones, which cannot be detected on radar. Thus far the drones haven't been effective.

Yaba

Yaba (Thai: ยาบ้า, Lao: ຢາບ້າ, literally 'mad drug' or 'crazy pill'), are tablets containing a mixture of methamphetamine (25-35mg) and caffeine (45-65mg). The use of this drug combination is widespread, particularly in South and Southeast Asia.
In the Philippines and Indonesia it is shabú. In China it is ma-goo or ma-guo. Yaba tablets are typically consumed orally, but can be smoked or injected.  Increase in the use of methamphetamine, globally, has outpaced that of any other drug.
Yaba is cheap due to it's excess supply and extremely addictive. Within a few days of consistent use, an individual can become hooked. Rapid heart rate, increased blood pressure and damage to blood vessels in the brain (which can cause a stroke) are synonymous with yaba use. Yaba abuse and addiction cause serious mental issues. A person often displays extreme paranoia and confusion. Anxiety, aggression and violence are common. Yaba withdrawal is extremely unpleasant and lasts for several days.

Video shows ‘filth’ of corrupt politics - Mexican President

The men are Rafael Caraveo Opengo, former technical secretary of the Senate Administration Committee, and Guillermo Gutiérrez Badillo, private secretary to the governor of Queretaro. USS Pinckney lands 120kg cocaine

The guided missile destroyer USS Pinckney intercepted a small boat about 200 nm to the southwest of Jamaica and seized 120kg of cocaine on July 24.

In a shift from years past, research indicates that most of the cocaine headed north from Colombia is ultimately bound for Europe and other overseas markets, where prices are higher than in the United States.

Container ports like Kingston serve as transshipment hubs for these cargoes.
The majority of the northbound trafficking across the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific may be aimed primarily at moving cocaine closer to these seaports - not to the U.S. border.
