 | On October 24, 2023 cops in Paraguay seized 3,312 kg of cocaine. Landed at the port of Villeta in Asunción, the drugs are valued at $1.4 billion. The cocaine was bound for Europe, hidden in a container with sacks containing rice. The Paraguayan Chaco has become a crucial transit point in Latin American drug trafficking. The flow of cocaine comes from northern countries and enters the country through some 1,500 clandestine airstrips, mainly located in Chaco, Canindeyú, Itapúa, and Misiones. |  |
