Red Scorpion gangster Kurtis Schmidt not brain damaged

Schmidt has a long criminal history with drug-trafficking and fraud convictions.29-year-old Kurtis Dieter Sandy Schmidt had no story ready to explain to cops why he was driving drunk through Burnaby while wearing body armor and packing a loaded semiautomatic with a silencer. He pulled 42 months in jail. Schmidt told a similar story as a witness at the 2009 trial of Mark Arrieta, a Red Scorpions associate who was convicted of killing Philbert Truong. Schmidt told the court in that case that he had passed out, dead drunk, at home with his iPhone. He couldn't explain how the same phone was used 95 times while he was passed out – including calls for a taxi that brought the killer to the crime scene.
His inability to answer questions prompted the judge to ask Schmidt if he was “on medication” or “brain injured.” Schmidt said he wasn't.
