Decotiis wall collapse = Amacon Developments - Vu

A year ago the piss poor construction quality of the DeCotiis was revealed with a shoring wall collapse. A year later and that project is finally nearing grade, meaning the parkade is complete. Being too cheap assholes cost the Decotiis clan a fortune.
Stepan Vdovine said work at the site was done "with appropriate permits, consistent oversight and monitoring," he added contractors "are some of the most experienced trades and engineers in the region." Amacon backfilled the excavation to stabilize the paper thin wall. A new engineer was tasked by Coquitlam for remediation.
Geopacific Consultants Ltd. was the engineer. reception@geopacific.ca. Matt Kokan is the owner.

The DeCotiss clan are well known for their terrible build quality. Anything built by the DeCotiis will have problems. Here. Project moniker is 'Vue' and citizens best steer clear of it. Here.
A UBC engineering prof says the retaining wall collapse of Amacon was likely caused by improper application of too thin shotcrete and the apparent lack of use of steel wire mesh reinforcement. The 'tie-backs' remained in place while the shotcrete failed. The fill was dry so water intrusion was not a factor. There is no sign of the square, steel mesh that should be used. It may have been excluded entirely to cut costs.
Construction of temporary shoring walls is not regulated by the BC Building Code. That falls to the self-regulating Engineers and Geoscientists B.C.
“In addition, no immediate infrastructure damage is apparent." Stepan Vdovine said in an email. HOLY where did the Decotiis dig this pup up from? The appropriate response is relief that nobody got hurt. Excavation contractor is Country Green Excavating. Here. Devon Oulovski was in high school in 2012.

Onni Group has been sued several times by the City of Burnaby for their incompetence.

Engineers & Geoscientists British Columbia investigated, but they are 'required' to keep all information confidential, and they revealed nothing. Giulio, Marcello, Morris, Paolo and Rossano De Cotiis are members of the family behind Onni and Amacon.

Decotiis wall collapse = Amacon Developments - update IV

Stepan Vdovine, Amacom vice-president, said work at the site was done "with appropriate permits, consistent oversight and monitoring," adding its contractors "are some of the most experienced trades and engineers in the region." Amacon has backfilled the excavation with tons of dirt to stabilize the wall. A new engineer, tasked by Coquitlam, is charged with remediation.
Geopacific Consultants Ltd. is the engineer. reception@geopacific.ca. Matt Kokan is the owner.

The failure of a hi-rise foundation shoring wall in Coquitlam is the latest in terrible construction quality from the DeCotiss clan. Recognized for a decade for bad and cheap workmanship, those buying from the DeCotiis will have problems. Here. Project moniker is 'Vue' and citizens best steer clear of condos being slapped up by crooks. Here.
