Colombo ‘boss-to-be’ Theodore Persico Jr., 60, took a plea in the case which brought down boss Andrew 'Mush' Russo, underboss Benjamin 'Benji' Castellazzo, consigliere Ralph DiMatteo and capos Richard Ferrara and Vincent Ricciardo. Persico is a nephew of the late Colombo crime family bosses Carmine 'the Snake' Persico and Andrew 'Mush' Russo. Russo died in 2022 at age 87. Sentencing guidelines call for at least four years, nine months. Prosecutors say six years. Defense lawyers challenged the prosecution that Persico was set to take over the Colombo family. | In 2019, Vincent Ricciardo threatened to murder a union boss. The labor union shakedown started in 2001. |
“We'll send people he don’t know right to his fucking house,” Ricciardo said in a conversation. In another, he says “Let me tell you something,” he declared. “To prove a point? I would fucking shoot him right in front of his wife and kids." Ralph DiMatteo, 68, number two in the Colombo crime family after the death of boss Andrew 'Mush' Russo, bought 3 years in prison after pleading guilty to racketeering involving extortion and money laundering. | DiMatteo walked out of prison on a $5m bond despite objections of prosecutors. |
