Trucker who imported 30kg of cocaine pulls 10 years - appeal quashed

A trucker who helped himself to product as he hauled a multi-million cocaine shipment was sentenced in Windsor to a 10-year prison term. His appeal was dismissed. Manpreet Dhatt might have received a shorter bit were it not for the fact he was high on coke while he drove his commercial rig on the highway. CBSA officers discovered 30.2 kg of 94% pure cocaine mixed in with a load of California oranges after Dhatt crossed the Ambassador Bridge into Canada on Dec. 27, 2016. Cops say the load could have been worth $4.8m.
Like 99.9% of truckers that get busted, Dhatt argued that he had been threatened with death. There was no evidence. Dhatt was left with seven years and 321 days. He will likely be deported back to India when his sentence expires.
