On a hot September evening, a dozen close relatives of the fallen biker gathered on Île Sainte-Hélène, in Montreal, to carry out his last wishes. They scattered his ashes in a small wooded area near oblivious walkers who had no idea they walked among the remains of one of the most notorious leaders of organized crime in Quebec. 165 people died in the Biker war between 1994 and 2002, including nine innocent victims. Boucher died behind bars at the age of 69 on July 10. He suffered from throat cancer which made him suffer until the end. Thin and weakened, he was fed liquid food supplements for several days, in addition to morphine. Disowned by his former colleges, Boucher died angry. There were no patched HAMC at Mom Boucher's final farewell. |
