Prosecutors say Delano Geerman, 22, shot de Vries five times as he was walking to his car in Amsterdam in July 2021 while Pole Kamiel Egiert, 35 drove the getaway vehicle. The pair was arrested within hours of the shooting on a Dutch highway in the getaway vehicle. Police said the weapon used to kill De Vries was found in the car. Last week, the prosecution asked for a life sentence for both men. Geerman refused to comment after high resolution security camera footage was aired in court that showed him in the vicinity of the attack immediately before and after the killing. "I invoke my right to remain silent." The men had ties to Ridouan Taghi. |
