A former Columbus Ohio police narcotics detective admitted to conspiring to trafficking cocaine and fentanyl. He will surrender more than $500k that he made through his illegal dealings. John Kotchkoski, 33, entered a guilty plea to a single count of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute 400 grams or more of fentanyl. He faces a minimum sentence of 10 years, up to a potential life sentence. Kotchkoski and another former Columbus police narcotics detective, Marco Merino, 44, were arrested after they attempted to sell 8 kg of fentanyl to an undercover FBI agent they thought was a confidential informant. |
