Cocaine rains down in Baratili San Pietro

The startled owners heard a loud bang and called the police, who found a suitcase on the roof with 8.5kg of cocaine.
A suitcase with cocaine was intended to fall from a Cessna into the hands of traffickers on the ground in Baratili San Pietro, a town of 1,200 in Sardinia. Instead it landed on the roof of a home, smashing a solar panel.

“It’s raining cocaine in Sardinia,” the Italian press crowed.
