 Rubén Oseguera González -'Menchito' | Almada grew up with the cartel leader's son, Rubén Oseguera González, and remained part of his inner circle. Menchito stood to inherit control of the cartel but was arrested in Mexico in 2017 and sits in a U.S. jail cell awaiting trial. Mexican officials announced Almada's arrest, but they have said nothing of his death. It remains 'under investigation'. Rubén Oseguera Cervantes, aka El Mencho, is thought to have ordered the killing.
