Frontotemporal dementia

Trump's unscheduled visit to hospital has reignited debate about his mental health. These days Trump virtually never finishes a sentence with the idea he started with.
He rambles. The term frontotemporal dementia was suggested more than 8 months ago to explain Trump's rapidly growing inability to 'find' words and make complete sentences. In frontotemporal dementia, portions of the brain's lobes shrink. (atrophy) Progression of Frontotemporal dementia may take as little as 3 years or as much as a decade. It is permanent and eventually fatal.
Around the same time Trump said "my father is German, was German. Born in a very wonderful place in Germany." Fred Trump was born in New York.
The areas of the brain effected are generally associated with personality, behavior and speech.

Common behavioral symptoms of frontotemporal dementia include inappropriate actions, apathy, or lack of interest or enthusiasm in activities, lack of inhibition or restraint, and compulsive behavior. Symptoms can include difficulty speaking or understanding speech, language recall problems, loss of reading and writing skills and difficulty with social interactions.
