 August 2011 | Damian Karl Wereta is a violent gang member who has repeatedly assaulted, attacked and wounded other prisoners and Corrections staff behind bars. He has been given an indefinite jail sentence and he won't be released until authorities are satisfied he is no longer a risk. Most recently he stabbed a rival gang member 33 times with a 14cm shank. Wereta and his associates shouted Black Power slogans while the victim was contorting in agony. He was a rival Mongrel Mob gangster, and survived. |  |
