235 police from across Quebec have been searching 13 locations in Laval and Montreal. Nine people have been arrested so far. Cops have seized cocaine, meth, cash and weapons. The operation is part of an investigation that started in February 2018 when the Canada Border Services Agency intercepted 200 packages of Xanax. Since 2018, police have seized 200,000 Xanax pills and meth in Laval. |
Cops say this drug ring is an offshoot of a nearly identical operation that was targeted in 2015. In October of that year, police seized two million pills, three guns, a bulletproof vest, $200k in cash and five pill presses during raids in Laval. |
