The Irish have a propensity to protect the identities of their biggest gangsters until such time as the charges become serious. Poster boy is Jonathan Gill, a man of large Dublin underworld reputation who, for many years, was known to the Irish public only as 'Mr. Big.' Last month it was reported Martin ‘Viper’ Foley and Mr. Big had joined forces as debt collectors. | In July, Foley pleaded guilty after 'Viper Debt Recovery' threatened to slit a man’s throat over a €4,000 debt. |
Jonathan Gill - Mr. Big | In 2020 the Irish press referred to Jonathan Gill as 'Mr. Big' exclusively. Gill, like Glen Ward 'Mr. Flashy', was warned his life is in danger. This likely explains Irish censorship. Every gangster has death threats. Irish authorities ought not give their worst gangsters a pass.
