Gangster cassowary emerges on Queensland beach


While not aggressive, if provoked they will slice their tormenter to ribbons.
Onlookers in Bingil Bay got their money's worth when an adolescent cassowary emerged from the ocean. Dubbed the most dangerous bird in the world, the towering, flightless bird resembles an ostrich or emu. Endangered, there are less than 4,000 southern cassowary left. What makes the creature dangerous are 6 inch dagger-like claws attached to the innermost toe on each of its feet.
