To be a good basketball player or baseball player, first of all, you gotta be a good liar, a good lowlife, and an imbecile," Gotti Sr. told his grandson via a prison phone. "You gotta take steroids. You must take steroids! And anybody that takes steroids is a garbage pail." Gotti Sr. died in prison in 2002 of cancer. At the time, Gotti III was 10 years old.
