4.6 tonnes of cocaine intercepted by French Navy

On Nov 30, a Brazilian vessel carrying over 4.6 tonnes of cocaine was intercepted by the French Navy as a result of joint intelligence. Heading towards Europe, the 21 meter-long vessel was intercepted in international waters off the coast of Sierra Leone.
The cocaine is believed to be worth in excess of £300m. The French navy boarded the vessel in international waters 400 miles off the coast. The crew, all Brazilians, were detained and the cocaine was destroyed.
