![]() | Willem Holleeder, the Netherlands most notorious gangster, was found guilty of ordering a series of murders in 2019. Holleeder, now 64, achieved notoriety in the 1980s for the kidnapping of beer tycoon Freddy Heineken. The prosecution case relied on the testimony of his sister, Astrid, who made secret recordings of their conversations. The Amsterdam Appeals Court said it "took into account the cold and unscrupulous way in which Holleeder, together with others in a criminal organization, decided on life and death." | ![]() |
