 | Jamaican international drug kingpin Leebert Ramcharan was sentenced to nearly 37 years in prison for conspiring to smuggle cocaine into the United States in 2018. He led a huge, sophisticated smuggling ring from Colombia to Jamaica between 1998 and 2004. Ramcharan had his sentence reduced by entering into a plea deal and ratting. |  |
 | Jamaican drug lord Norris 'Deedo' Nembhard has lost another appeal against the state. On May 4, 2020 the Appeal Court denied Nembhard's motion for leave to appeal a decision against him. Nembhard, along with Leebert Ramcharan, were designated “drug kingpins” under the US Foreign Narcotics Kingpin Designation Act in 2004. After fighting extradition for four years Nembhard was extradited to the US in 2008 along with four other Jamaicans — Robroy Williams, Glenford Williams, Vivian Dalley and Herbert Henry, a former police corporal. |  Leebert Ramcharan |
 | Some $200m in assets that belonged to convicted drug kingpin, Norris ‘Deedo’ Nembhard, will be forfeited to Jamaica following a Supreme Court ruling. He lost a three-year battle to retain his assets that include six high-priced properties in St Ann and a dozen high-end vehicles. In 2004, Nembhard was one of several Jamaicans designated as drug kingpins by then US President George W. Bush. |  |
 | Nembhard was sentenced to 13 years in prison but was released in August 2015 after serving nine years. He was rewarded for being a rat. Co-accused Colombian national Luis Miguel Avila Arias said that the group used Jamaican waters as a trans-shipment point for cocaine moving from Colombia to the United States. |  |
