The gang-led attack was unprovoked, with a minivan load of more gang members arriving on the scene a short time after the fight started. The attack involved around 30 people. The owner of Rotorua's Hennessey's Irish Bar, Reg Hennessey, blames "about 45 motels are full of homeless people or rough sleepers or people with problems". |
