Mobster Peter Gotti was sentenced to 25 years in prison after his 2003 conviction on racketeering and other charges. He took control of the Gambino crime organization after his mob boss brother, John Gotti, was locked up. Peter Gotti was 81 years old when he died at a Federal Medical Center prison. He was twice denied compassionate release. |
The 'Teflon Don' John Gotti was caged in 1993, and his son John Gotti Jr. took over the reins of the crime family until 1999 when he too was jailed. The mantle then fell to Peter Gotti whose own brothers were reluctant to have him become a made man because of his lack of intelligence. Even as a child Peter Gotti was considered stupid, and that reputation grew as the years passed. He served 17 years of his 25-year racketeering sentence. His lawyer says he's dying. Gotti reportedly suffers from an enlarged prostate, gastric reflux and early onset dementia. |

Europe’s largest cocaine bust - 23 tonnes
More than 50,700 pounds of cocaine has been seized by German and Belgian authorities. The bust is being hailed as one of the largest single seizures in the world. |
Germany, after receiving a tip from their Dutch colleagues, found 35,658 pounds of the drug hidden in 1,700 cans of construction putty. |

Toronto Mafia case collapses - Project Sindacato
Angelo Figliomeni | Project Sindacato resulted in charges against nine people in Canada. All charges have been dropped as it was revealed investigators listened in on solicitor/client conversations. Lawyers alleged unlawful and illegal conduct by both York Regional Police officers and by members of the Canada Revenue Agency.
All property seized by police must now be returned.

Jean-Philippe Turmel loses $408k
Between November 1, 2019 and May 12, 2020, Jean-Philippe Turmel, 28, trafficked in meth, hash, and cocaine. Cops seized 54,500 meth tablets, hash and 1,216 g of cocaine. They also seized $408k in cash, which will be turned over as proceeds of crime.
This is Turmel's second trafficking bust. Last time it was 42 months, this time it's 57 months in the big house. |

HA Hall, Chalue, Berkshire County ‘Hells Angels’ triple murder
David Chalue, convicted in the 2011 Berkshire County ‘Hells Angels’ triple murder failed to have his three convictions for first-degree murder overturned.
The Supreme Court in Boston upheld the three first-degree murder convictions of HA Adam Lee Hall and rejected his request for a new trial. |
The court found him not guilty of previously kidnapping one of his 3 murder victims. Hall was serving five consecutive life sentences. With the latest ruling, that will be reduced to four consecutive life sentences. Hall was the ringleader when David Glasser, Edward Frampton and Robert Chadwell were kidnapped and executed Aug. 28, 2011. The men's remains were discovered in a shallow pit weeks later. |
Hall and his two accomplices, David Chalue, and Caius Veiovis, were all convicted of first-degree murder in 2014. Chalue and Veiovis are also serving life sentences without possibility of parole. |

Gangster Ravi Pujari has been returned to Mumbai to face justice. Pujari is wanted in a huge number of cases including extortion and murder. He has been on the run for over 15 years. He gained infamy through his extortion of Bollywood stars. Pujari was arrested in Dakar, Senegal where he was living with his family under the name Anthony Fernandes. He held a Burkina Faso passport. He skipped bail. |
Pujari’s gang operations spanned across Mumbai, Bengaluru, Mangaluru and Udupi. Pujari began identifying himself as a warrior for the "Hindu cause." Cops say that his transformation was an attempt to cover up his crimes. The beginning of the end came when cops learned Pujari was hosting cricket tournaments in Africa. |

Gangster Paul Crosby arrested
Drogheda feud gangster Paul Crosby was arrested in prison by gardai investigating the savage murder and dismemberment of Keane Mulready-Woods in January of last year. The teenager was butchered by slain gangland serial killer Robbie Lawlor. Robbie Lawlor, 35, was shot in the head in a front garden of a house in north Belfast on April 4, 2020. |
Lawler's hit was commissioned by a gangland alliance of drug lord Christy Griffin, paralysed gang boss Owen Maguire and Cornelius Price. Crosby is one of the main targets for the Maguire faction in the Drogheda feud whose leader Owen Maguire was left paralyzed after being shot in an attempted murder in July, 2018. |

Melbourne drug kingpin Tony Mokbel makes a “high priority” appeal
Tony Mokbel says the betrayal he suffered at the hands of police informer Nicola Gobbo should overturn his 30-year drug trafficking sentence. Mokbel could have his bid for freedom heard by Victoria's highest court in July.

$2.8m in cocaine corn flakes lassoed
Federal agents intercepted a shipment of $2.82m worth of cocaine-coated corn flakes. CBP officers in Cincinnati intercepted the smuggled drugs in a shipment of cereal coming from South America. About 44 pounds of cocaine-coated corn flakes were seized, with a street value of $2.8m. CBP Narcotic Detector Dog “Bico” was working incoming freight from Peru when he alerted to a shipment of cereal headed to a private home in Hong Kong. |
