 Shakir Mosi Smith | Shakir Mosi Smith, 43, is standing trial in a Cambria County PA court on charges of first-degree murder in connection with the killing of Carol Ashcom, 30. Smith had Ashcom killed because her cooperation with law enforcement was key to the drug case against him, argued prosecutors. “She made a mistake that cost her her life.” Ashcom agreed to become an informant after she was busted selling drugs in April 2014. Smith was arrested on drug charges six weeks later. |  Ashcom was found shot to death on March 11, 2015. |
