![]() Matthew Ross Lambert | Two B.C. men have been convicted on drug conspiracy charges after the seizure of 157kg of cocaine from a container ship in Halifax in June 2018. Matthew Ross Lambert, 36, and Darcy Peter Bailey, 48, were convicted and will be sentenced this fall. The Arica docked at the Halterm Container Terminal on the morning of June 9, 2018, after sailing from Montreal. The ship’s last port call before Montreal was Antwerp, Belgium.
A video inspection of the Arica’s hull by a remotely operated vehicle revealed an anomaly in the sea chest, a grated chamber on the bottom of the vessel which draws sea water for cooling. Divers recovered the cocaine.![]() |
