Co-conspirator Brandon Arias, 34, was sentenced to nine years in prison. | The 'Drug Llama', Melissa Scanlan, 32, pleaded guilty to federal charges in Illinois to trafficking fentanyl causing death. She sold more than 50,000 pills nationwide since October 2016. |
Her dark net operation killed at least two in California, a 10-month-old boy and a 41-year old woman. The child died when his father left Scanlan's fentanyl unattended. When cops busted her San Diego home, she admitted to obtaining drugs from a Mexican cartel. The 11th hour addition to Scanlan's plea agreement-the death count- means she is looking at 20 years in jail. Scanlan's sentencing is in February. |
