Mob boss Andrew Scoppa, one of the Montreal Mafia's most influential players, was found dead in a pool of blood in a parking lot in the West Island. He had been shot in front of a store at 4744 Saint-Jean Boulevard. It was the 13th homicide in Montreal this year. |
Andrea (Andrew) Scoppa was leader of a Calabrian clan in Montreal. Andrew is the brother of Salvatore Scoppa who was gunned down last May in the lobby of the Sheraton Hotel in Laval. Cops believe the Scoppa’s were involved in the murders of key Rizzuto family mobsters including Rocco Sollecito and Lorenzo Giordano. Speculation is that the remains of the Rizzuto crime family led by Stefano Sollecito may be taking revenge. The slaying of Andrew Scoppa is the second murder of a key figure in Quebec organized crime in the past few days. On Thursday, Gatean Sevigny, an associate of the Hells Angels in Quebec, was gunned down in front of his home in Terrebonne. |
