 | The most famous face of Rome’s criminal underworld was sitting on a bench in the Parco degli Acquedotti – the “park of the aqueducts.” |  Fabrizio Piscitelli, 53, was well-known as the undisputed boss of Italy’s toughest ultra gang, Lazio’s Irriducibili (“the Irreducibles” or “Die Hards”). |
  | A man dressed as a jogger ran past the bench and fired a 7.65 calibre pistol into Piscitelli’s left ear. He died instantly, sliding off the bench as the killer ran off. It had the hallmarks of a professional hit. Piscitelli had moved from merchandising into drug dealing, using his deep connections to the Neapolitan mob, the Camorra. His batteria (turf) was the Ponte Milvio suburb just north of the Stadio Olimpico. One lifelong fan summed it up, “Piscitelli ruined the image of Lazio in the world. Lazio now implies racism, fascism and collusion with the Camorra. His was a rabble of criminals.” |  Piscitelli was nicknamed 'Diabolik', after a cartoon thief and assassin. |
