Even after a recent seizure of 13 firearms, more than a kilogram of fentanyl and about $750k in cash – the top cop admitted feeling overmatched by the level of violence. By 2017 Ottawa gangs had given way to Toronto groups like the Galloway Boys and the Ardwick Bloods. Cops say there could be as many as a dozen gangs operating in the city at any one time. While the Hells Angels recently returned to Thunder Bay cops say it doesn't appear that the southern gangs are working with the bikers. "The Thunder Bay Hells Angels kind of came back in as an official chapter, but due to the death to one of their members they are kind of in a limbo state." Southern gangs bring cocaine in bulk to Thunder Bay which can net between $300k and $500k a kilogram once the product is cut and distributed on the streets. |
