Man hires undercover KKK FBI agent to lynch black neighbor - ends poorly

A white man who tried to hire a hit man from a South Carolina branch of the Ku Klux Klan to kill a black neighbor was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison.

Brandon Lecroy, 26, of Greenwood County SC was arrested after trying to hire an undercover FBI agent who posed as a KKK hit man. Lecroy requested that the victim be hanged from a tree and a “flaming cross” burned on the man’s front lawn. He texted the undercover agent photos and names of two intended targets, one of which was his neighbor.

Conversations Lecroy had with the undercover FBI agent were so “racially explosive” the documents remained sealed for Lecroy's own safety in prison. “He would be a marked man.”
