 | An actor and two others face long prison terms after they confessed to trying to extort $198,000 from a former New York pizzeria owner. Douglas Singer, 54, Leroy Wilson, 47, and Marianne Wood, 61, each pleaded guilty to an extortion conspiracy in Brooklyn. Leroy Wilson has had small roles in hit TV shows like “Empire” and films like “Creed.” Wilson was recruited into the scheme by Singer, who had bought the Sheepshead Bay pizzeria from the victim in early 2018 for $60,000 and a monthly rent of $5,200. The victim was his landlord, and owned and lived in the building housing the pizzeria. |
 | Wood told the victim he owed them $198,000 and demanded payment — with a photo of the victim’s wife and children, saying it would be in his best interest to pay up. During that confrontation, Wilson — playing the role of the bodyguard — leaned toward the victim and revealed a pistol holstered on his hip. The firearm was later determined to be a theatrical prop.
