“If I don't want to be found, I won't be found" - fentanyl dealer Leslie McCulloch

Leslie McCulloch pleaded guilty Friday for skipping out on his bail earlier this year and evading police for three months. The Crown said McCulloch began to taunt the Crown prosecutor by email. “If I don't want to be found, I won't be found,” McCulloch stated in one of the emails. McCulloch was found by police the following month. He pulled 30 days for failing to appear in court, to be served concurrently.

'You only answer to the Bonanno family'

Sprinkles with that? Bonanno crime-family associate Salvatore Russo, 46, copped a plea for his role in a drug-trafficking scheme that involved the sale of cocaine in a Manhattan gelato shop. Russo is free on $500,000 bond. He was busted last year in a coordinated sting on mobsters in the US and Canada. He and capo Damiano Zummo were accused of conspiring to sell cocaine.

Russo was busted last year in a coordinated, cross-border crackdown on mobsters operating in both the US and Canada. Acting Bonanno captain Damiano Zummo was caught on a secret recording while taking part in a Mafia induction ceremony in Canada in 2015. “You only answer to the Bonanno family,” Zummo told the newly “made” mobster, an informer.

HA connect to murdered Richard Allan Scurr

One of the two Surrey men who were found dead near Ashcroft last month has a crime-related connection to the Hells Angels. In 2005, then 23-year-old Richard Allan Scurr was busted and sentenced to seven months in jail and two years probation for trafficking cocaine. At the time, RCMP said he was a key member of The Crew, a gang affiliated with the Nomads chapter of the Hells Angels.

The bodies of Scurr and Ryan Provencher were found on Aug. 20.

Attempted murder of Arsène Mompoint in Saint-Léonard

The attempted hit on the Reds leader last month promises more conflict. Arsène Mompoint, 46, is a leader of a group that is said to have handled contracts for the mafia. Mompoint is considered the head of Unit 44, whose members were convicted of the murders of Gaétan Gosselin and Vincenzo Scuderi, men of Raynald Desjardins and the late chieftain Giuseppe de Vito respectively.

Cops believe Mompoint was seeking to take the place of the influential gang leader Gregory Woolley. Arsène Mompoint's right-hand man, Frank Pascal Dieudonné, was murdered in Saint-Philippe in February. After the murder of Dieudonné, Mompoint was informed by the police that his life was in danger.

HA booze fueled peeler parties in Langley Rec Centers likely over

Anti-gang cops said it’s “concerning” that Hells Angels appear to have been holding their parties in Langley Township rec centres. “Anyone could have been in danger of being a victim of an act of violence, an innocent victim” The club is described as "perpetrators and attractors of violence."

Staff were concerned after an April 6 party at George Preston Recreation Centre where HA arrived in force.

The email mentioned it was not the first time the group had turned up for a rental. The April 6 event, which involved alcohol and eight strippers, violated the rental agreement for the space. If gang members turn up wearing colours now, Langley employees can call the police who will have the gang members removed.

Organized crime-related homicides soar in Mexico

Murders attributed to organized crime broke a record in August at 2,290, a 77.8% rise over last year. It's the third month in a row with over 2,000 such murders — there were 2,264 in July and 2,249 in June. With 240 murders, Guanajuato topped the list of the most violent state. One of the year’s worst massacres was an attack on a nightclub in Coatzacoalcos that left 30 dead and 13 injured. On August 8 the Jalisco New Generation Cartel left 19 bodies hanging from an overpass in Uruapan.

A recent gun battle in Tepalcatepec between the CJNG and a rival, Juan José “El Abuelo” (The Grandfather) Farías Álvarez, left nine dead.

Ivan Alejandro Silva whacked in Boucherville - Update

Silva was, according to cops, the boss of a network of cocaine importers linked to a Mexican cartel.

Ivan Alejandro Silva, 39, was killed while riding a motorcycle on Lionel-Daunais Street. His death was later transferred to the Sûreté du Québec because the murder could be related to organized crime. Silva was sentenced to 42 months in penitentiary in 2015 for a savage stabbing attack in a strip club.

One of the investigations was project 'Carcan' which targeted the Hells Angels and Marc-André Lachance, convicted of beating an SPVM investigator on vacation in Mexico in 2011. Silva was seen with gang leader Gregory Woolley, his deputies, and mafia clan chief Andrew Scoppa. Ivan Alejandro Silva Sanchez was a Colombian and a close associate of Ivan Eduardo Villaroel, who has close ties with cartels in South America and Mexico. He had strong ties to the Hells Angels and was well known as an alpha level drug trafficker. Mexican cartels seem to have plans for the Hells Angels' cash cow in Quebec, methamphetamine.
