After trafficking GHB under the radar for years, the three would have run to their own doom by being less vigilant, according to court documents. The investigation began during a meeting in a café between Stéphane Plouffe, an influential member of the Hells Angels, and a suspected cocaine dealer, who then crossed paths with the trio. In April 2022, the network was caught when Turcotte met a narcotics buyer who was already under police surveillance. Turcotte had 400 liters of GHB.
